The root is used mainly for peptic problems and on the skin, while the leaves are used for the lungs and the urinary system. The root is recommended particularly in the all inflammations of digestive tube, as inflammations of mouth, gastritis, peptic ulcer, enteritis and colitis. For the urethritis and the sand in the urinary system the leaves of Althaea are very palliative. In general this plant is very palliative for any irritation of mucous membranes of body. Externally the root is used for the varix of veins and the exterior ulcers as abscesses.
